Cocina Lolo plans to reopen its doors this Wednesday, October 11. The restaurant, serving “Mexican-inspired food with an urban flourish,” was closed for renovations over the summer. Owners Andrea and Bryan Sikora closed the restaurant in early June, but assured its return, positing on the restaurant’s Facebook page, “We promise we will be back with some new decor, and an even better menu in the fall.”
Taking over a grab-and-go coffee shop in 2015 at the Renaissance Centre building, 405 N. King St, Bryan Sikora said the space was a “vanilla shell” that “didn’t have a welcoming feel;” and Andrea told The News Journal she wanted the restaurant to have more festive lighting and decor.
In addition to new décor, customers can also expect a revamped menu. Although it has not been posted yet, past favorites like pork carnitas tacos, ceviches, quesadillas, and classic margaritas should remain on the new menu.
The Sikoras also own the Market St businesses, Merchant Bar and La Fia, and Hearth Kitchen in Kennett Square, PA. Each with their own unique feel and diverse menu, Merchant Bar is an upscale gastropub, La Fia is a bakery, bistro, and gourmet shop, and Hearth Kitchen is an Italian-inspired eatery with a wood-burning oven.
