Did You Know That the DuPont Environmental Education Center Hosts Free Events?
April 11, 2017Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life with a trip to the DuPont Environmental Education Center this week. The center is managed and run by the Delaware Nature Society and sits atop a beautiful marsh oasis surrounded by 360-degree views.
Admission to the DuPont Environmental Education Center is free, and they host a wide variety of free events each week from April through October. On Saturdays, families can meet all sorts of new friends at Lunch with Live Animals. From 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. you can help staff feed some of the animals, including snakes and turtles. Next up is Meet the Marsh Animals, which runs on both Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Little ones will get up close and personal with everything from frogs to turtles. Netting in the Marsh runs Sundays from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., where you can actually go out into the marsh and catch some critters and see if you can identify them with the help of center staff.
These events are fun for all ages, and there is a variety of self-guided options to explore after you’re done.
